PETER Andre has been discharged from Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton after a successful emergency operation yesterday afternoon.

He is believed to have received treatment for gallstones after being rushed to the hospital in the early hours of Friday morning, the County Gazette understands.

The singer and reality television personality was due to appear at Plymouth Pavilions on Friday night before moving on to Butlin’s in Minehead today.

His Minehead performance will now be held tomorrow providing he is well enough.

A spokesman said: “With the exception of today’s performance which has been rescheduled to tomorrow afternoon, all other tour dates will be unaffected and will run to schedule.

“Peter would like to thank everyone for their support and their messages.”

Earlier in the year Peter was treated for gallstones by paramedics after he collapsed while jogging.

Peter’s ex-wife Katie Price tweeted the news first on Friday, saying: “I’m told CAN (Pete’s management company) are going to release a statement saying pete been rushed to hospital with stomach pains!why does press need to know!”

She then added: “hope pete ok.” Peter is best known for his marriage to the glamour girl which ended in September last year.

They have two children together, Junior, four, and Princess Tiaamii, two, alongside Price’s son Harvey with footballer Dwight Yorke.

The underwear-stitcher – played by Andy Whyment – does a turn for the TV talent contest along with thousands of other hopefuls by performing Kings Of Leon chart-topper Sex On Fire.

His efforts will be seen as part of a 50th anniversary special celebrating the Coronation Street landmark birthday next month.

Kirk strutted his stuff for the judges, including Nicole Scherzinger who was on her feet in amazement at his high energy performance. And he even threw in an air guitar solo to win a standing ovation from the crowd.

Viewers will see whether Simon was impressed – or left in stitches – in a TV special Coronation Street: The Big 50, to be screened on ITV1 on December 10.

His audition is one of a number of specially recorded sketches featuring Corrie favourites who turn up in unexpected places.

Paul O’Grady will host the show and preside over a quiz to test the Weatherfield wisdom of cast and super-fans.

O’Grady said: “If I don’t dip into the lives of the folk from Weatherfield on a regular basis I get withdrawal symptoms.

“As a vampire needs blood, I need a nightly dose of Corrie. It has always been there, Bill Roache and Barbara Knox are as familiar faces as family.

The Street celebrates its 50th anniversary on December 9.

Katie Waissel’s grandmother Sheila Vogel-Coupe has said she does not think of herself as a prostitute, as has been claimed, and vowed that she would not make another porn film.

The 81-year old pensioner spoke to the London Evening Standard after allegations arose that she had been advertising her services on an escort website, and had starred in the porn film Freddie’s Great British Granny Bang.

She said: “When my second husband died I was lonely and I answered a few advertisements because I enjoy the company of a man. I had the company of a few men which I thoroughly enjoyed then found an agency on the internet looking for nice ladies like me to do this sort of work.”

Describing how she viewed herself, Vogel-Coupe said: “I never thought thought of myself as being a prostitute. I think of myself as a high-class escort. I am attractive and well-spoken and have travelled around the world and the gentlemen that come to me liked that.”

Ms. Vogel-Coupe also stated that she contacted Waissel, leaving the aspiring singer a voice message apologising for stirring up controversy within the family and the press.

The pensioner has taken on the services of PR guru Max Clifford, and is allegedly considering an offer from a film-maker who wants to tell the story of her life.

Christina Aguilera will perform on next week’s Dancing With The Starsfinale.

ABC has announced that the star will perform her hit single ‘Beautiful’ and a track from her upcoming movie Burlesque on Tuesday’s results show, which will see Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough, Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer and Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas battle for the coveted Mirrorball Trophy.

They will have to perform one freestyle routine and one revamped version of a previously completed dance that will be selected by the judges on Monday, followed by their favourite ballroom dance on Tuesday.

They will also have to perform an “instant” cha cha cha to music they will receive when the programme begins.

This season’s eleven competitors will also return for one final dance.

Dancing WIth The Stars continues this Monday at 8pm ET on ABC and concludes in a two-hour episode the following day from 9pm ET.

Although Rihanna has turned down offers to pose nude for Playboy magazine, the pop star says she is not completely opposed to stripping for the cameras. Rihanna says she would consider posing nude in a “classy way.”

 

“I got a few offers to do Playboy actually. They want to pay [me] to be naked on the cover,” Rihanna said Wednesday in an interview on the Hot 97 Angie Martinez radio show.

“If I’m gonna take my clothes off, it has to be in a classy way and my will, not a check. I wouldn’t take any money to do that.”

The 22-year-old recently released her fifth album, ‘Loud,’ on November 16. She will make her acting debut in the upcoming film ‘Battleship,’ which also stars Alexander Skarsgard, Brooklyn Decker, Liam Neeson and Taylor Kitsch. ‘Battleship’ is scheduled to hit theaters on May 18.

Mentor and friend Simon Cowell is believed to have called a crisis meeting with the singer after she refused to choose which one of her acts to send home last week, sparking more than 1,000 complaints from viewers.

But a source told the Daily Star that with American TV bosses also scrutinising the star to decide if she would be suitable for the US version of the show, the pressure is getting too much.

“Cheryl has to sparkle this weekend and regain her credibility,” the insider told the newspaper. “The trouble is she is a nervous wreck and terrified of putting a foot wrong.

“She will be under extraordinary scrutiny. What makes it more difficult is that her American dream seems to have gone up in smoke.”

They added, “Simon’s fully aware that the mentors get close to their acts, he does too. But they are also being paid to do a job. He wants this weekend’s show to be about the singing, not about the controversy.”

In the emotional scenes set to air over New Year, Ronnie, played by Samantha Womack, finds her baby dead and runs to the Queen Vic for help, talking to the body she is clutching.

While everyone is seeing in the New Year, Ronnie hears Kat’s baby crying upstairs and in a moment of desperation and blinded by grief, swaps the babies and runs off.

Executive producer Bryan Kirkwood told The Daily Mirror: “When Ronnie loses the one thing she’s always wanted, she acts on impulse in a moment of sheer desperation.”

Jessie Wallace, 39, who plays Kat Moon, and Sam, 38, began filming the traumatic scenes this week.

Bryan added: “We’re lucky to have two wonderful actresses who understand the need to portray this subject sensitively.”

Soap bosses said they have researched the issue in detail and hope to raise awareness of the 300 babies claimed by cot death every year.

Joyce Epstein, of cot death charity FSID, said: “We are very grateful for their accurate depiction of the devastating effect the sudden death of an infant can have on a family.”

But it would seem all it took to persuade Sheryl Gascoigne to reconsider was a bit more money – £95,000 to be precise.

The ex-wife of England and Tottenham Hotspur star Paul is this year’s highest paid contestant after being offered four times the £25,000 originally offered.

Speaking today, she admitted that the money was the reason she decided to jet out to Australia and join the jungle camp.

She said: ‘If I’m brutally honest, they made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.

I said no earlier in the year and then they came back to me and said, “Somebody is jittery, will you come in and we will give you X amount?” When I picked myself up from the floor I was like “Yep, OK”. The financial pull has been big.’

I’m A Celebrity bosses are said to be hoping that the big fee will be enough to get her to talk about her life with Paul, who she divorced in 1998 after accusing him of domestic violence.

Sheryl also admitted that she is embarrassed about being asked as she doesn’t consider herself a celebrity.

But she said she hopes the show will give her the chance to turn around public opinion about her, after the fallen star branded her a ‘wicked vulture’ for making a documentary about him.

She said: ‘I’m sure there are a lot of long hours in there to fill and we’ll all get talking. I hope that people will see the real me.’

Sheryl and Paul married in 1996, and he adopted her two children – Bianca and Mason – from her first marriage, and had a son of their own, Regan.

And she said her children are really excited that she’s on the show and have jetted out to Australia with her and will be waiting when she comes out of the jungle.

Sheryl said: ‘The hardest thing for me is definitely being away from the children, particularly my youngest son Regan

“Regan and I are very close and being away is going to be really tough.’

Jenna Jameson’s decision to quit the porn industry was brought on by the birth of her twins.

The former porn star had revealed that she wanted to give 19-month-old boys Jesse and Journey a normal upbringing.

And when it comes to telling her sons what mummy’s job used to be, Jenna, 36, told W Magazine, “I really don’t think I need to say, ‘Mummy was a porn star’. I feel like they’re going to know me and think, mummy loved us so much that she quit everything and made us her job.

“I thought, ‘I’m getting rid of these things. I don’t need them anymore’. The moment I decided to have children I quit. I won’t even do a Maxim cover.”

And she’s now enjoying a peaceful life in California with partner Ultimate Fighting Championship star Tito Ortiz after selling her $30 million porn empire to Playboy in 2006.

She added, “Here I’m not ‘Jenna Jameson’ – I’m just one of the mums who walks a double stroller every day. I’m a normal girl with all the same worries and insecurities. I just happen to have done porn.”

X Factor star Katie Waissel is reportedly at war with mentor Cheryl Cole.

According to The Sun, the contestant is furious that Cheryl wants her to perform ‘The Bitch Is Back’ for tonight’s Elton John theme and took it as a personal insult. She has since insisted on singing ‘Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting)’.

She told the paper: “There were a couple of songs put forward to me. I liked the fighting spirit of the songs, but one goes a little too far. Do you know what? You can push things too far.”

A source added: “To say Katie is a diva is putting it mildly – she’s a complete nightmare. She is so rude to people and treats staff on the show like dirt. Cheryl has been livid with the way she’s been acting.

“She’s done her best to help her, but she still gets this rude backchat from her. And Katie isn’t honest with anyone. She fled to meet Amy Winehouse the other night and when we asked about it she just lied and said she didn’t.”

The report also claims that Waissel is unhappy with the amount of attention that Cole is giving to Cher Lloyd.
